Man to Man

For about a week I have been interested in getting a better shave. I recently bought a double edge safety razor. It may sound nostalgic to you, but I wanted to get one ever since I was little. Over the years I have hacked at my face with the cartridge razors. Tried the closest shaves possible. In conclusion, I have found that nothing and I mean, nothing! Beats a barbershop shave! Second to that, is a shave with a safety razor. Really one blade is all you need.
So I get out the instructions to tackle this razor and I see it in bold letters. shaving is an art that needs to time to developed I thought to myself, how chesey is that? I have been shaving for years and it was not a science. Needless to say that I have found it true the hard way, after a shave with the safety razor. It is a skill, one I wish I learned before.

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:1-5 KJV)

I’m sure that is why proverbs was written. To share skills that were once lost to a generation that was destined to change the world. To seek wisdom above uncertainty. To give our children the chance we may have missed. Faith is a lot like shaving.

If you never shaved with a double edge safety razor. You need instruction at first; some pointers to help you along. It truly is a close shave. But with out some

how to’s

you will be more like a hacked up turkey instead of a distinguished gentleman. Same with our relationship with God. When we don’t read the bible or get understanding, we end up hacking away at our friendship with the king of kings. Growing in relationship with The Lord will take time and patience. We will go deeper on this next week. So in closing, before you try your hand at shaving like your grand-dad, read the instructions or get pointers. Your face and neck will thank you.

I was a young man who worked for a great organization "Forged by the Sea." Now I'm an old head kicking back on the east side; where the sun doesn't set. I'm a man who is pursuing his contributions to the world. I'm not perfect. In fact, a work in progress until Jesus takes me home. Philippians 1:6
