Friday Focus: Serve in the right relationship
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. (John 3:29-30 KJV)

In a traditional wedding the best man has a very important role in the wedding ceremony. Not only is he the lead man for the rest of the groomsmen in the party, he is also the the master of ceremonies in the often memorable bachelor party. He alone is responsible for getting the groom to the wedding and of course he holds the ring. The symbol that proclaims the vision of unity.
Hear my thought; there is a bond between the groom and his best man whose relationship deepen during the whole marriage preparations. This is where the best man really earns his position: by encouraging the groom and supporting his decision to cleave to his bride, even at the demise of their close relationship, he’s not upset for he knows his friend is happy and is happy for his friend (true friends will genuinely celebrate your victories). John was feeling this very thing for Jesus, this is where John the Baptist takes a stage left and the son of God takes center stage in the face of humanity. this is the moment where John’s destiny is fulfilled and the realization is this: I can not go further until I am in the right position.

We serve almighty God in various capacities which brings up this question? Who is leading who? Are you allowing The Holy Spirit to lead you in your ministry, or are you directing God to follow where you may lead?
Our service should be the former, we are to allow the Holy Spirit to lead and direct us rather than the other way around. You may find that once you’re in the right position, the Lord takes center stage of your life . This should be our focus as leaders, ministers and pastors. Just as planes will not take off unless things are in place ( seat backs, tray tables are in an upright and locked position) congregations can not grow in Christ. So this week, lets focus on having the right relationship with our Lord and Savior recognizing him as our pilot, not the flight attendant. Have a great week.

Friday Focus: Come with it……
Psalm 103:1 At the end of a powerful church service when the congregation goes home feeling empowered, the man of God comes from the platform, more often than not; drained. Feeling the need to be refreshed he looks to his team members to encourage him or her.
“When the last prayer has been prayed and the person has been ministered to, who will minister to the minister?”-The Spirit of Armorbearing, Earma Brown.
There is nothing worse than having to “pump-up” your OWN cheering section which is why I say “be that minister that brings it”!
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalm 103:1 ESV.
Your Spiritual leader has now passed the baton to the Body of believers. Where most would go on with out thought you see you Pastor needing to be refreshed. This is where you should be at your best to minister. not the time to have counseling. Serve them with a song in your heart, a smile on your face and gentleness in your spirit. All fruit of the spirit should be concentrated as you redeem your man or woman of God’s time by taking care of the little things so that our Pastor can spend time with his family. This is not the time where you need to critique his/her message. Nor is it the time to shout from the roof tops of how great of a communicator he is please, just listen to them and tend to what they need. There will be time to honor your pastor but directly at the end of his ministry is not the time. You should be listening and attending to what he or she requires; even anticipate his or her needs with time. Set the atmosphere so that your Pastor can be refreshed. They will thank you for it!
